Annual Persian New Year Celebration in Mason Park

Robin Fenchel February 22, 2012

The Annual Persian New Year celebration will take place in Irvine’s Mason Regional Park this coming Sunday, March 30th. This day long celebration is the culmination of the Persian New Year, bNorooz”, which began on the first day of Spring. On the 13th day of the New Year or bSizdeh Bedar”, families and friends gather in the park to picnic as an annual rite of renewal to start the New Year fresh. Thousands of people are expected to partake in the New Year’s celebration. We wish all our friends a very happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.
