Secluded yet centrally located, the Village of Quail Hill is currently comprised of 14 distinctive neighborhoods, nestled against 600 acres of permanent open space, including Ambridge, Casalon, Chantilly, Ivy Wreath, Jasmine, Laurel, Linden, Olivos, Sandalwood, Sage, Sienna, Solstice, Tapestry, and Vicara, Quail Hill’s last development.
Quail Hill is one of the premier communities in Irvine, Orange County, California. The Village of Quail Hill is named after the distinctive rock formation that may be seen from miles away and is at the pinnacle of acres of surrounding open space. Quail Hill offers a variety of homes for sale and/or lease within a secluded environment that is also close to major employment, shopping, dining, and entertainment areas.
The Village of Quail Hill offers many different styles of homes for sale including single family residences, luxury homes, urban-style detached and attached town homes, garden courtyard condominiums, and apartment homes. Many of these neighborhoods in the Village of Quail Hill feature panoramic views of the hills, sunset, city lights views, and views of the mountains beyond.
There is a network of hiking and bicycling trails that connects residents to more than 50,000 acres of preserved open space. One of the beautiful aspects of living in Quail Hill is that it is a self-contained community where most of your everyday needs are within ten minutes of your home.
Choosing where to live is one of the most important decisions we make, and these choices are personal decisions that are influenced by a panoply of many different wants and needs. There are as many answers to these questions as there are people. The kind of lifestyles people are seeking are varied. Some may want to be close to work or, at least, close to the arteries/freeways that will save time in their commute. Others want to be in close proximity to shopping centers, coffee shops, hiking and biking trails, restaurants, movies, award-winning schools.
Quail Hill has many of the things that please us: close proximity to both a local shopping center (the Quail Hill Shopping Center) and a regional shopping center (the Irvine Spectrum). It’s also within a few minutes drive to Fashion Island and Laguna Beach. There is easy commuter access to freeways: namely, to the 405 (San Diego freeway), the 5 (Santa Ana freeway), the 133 (the Laguna Freeway), and the 73 (the San Joaquin Toll Road).
There are four recreational parks:
the Commons Park which is located off of Passage street, features an Olympic Swimming Pool, a spa, a children’s wading pool, and a state-of-of-the art fitness center. In addition, there is a lanai with a fireplace, barbecues both inside the gated pool area and around the Commons Park, and comfortable seating around the park area in which to enjoy the outdoor scenery.
Knollcrest Park located off Quail Hill Parkway and Knollcrest East. This park also features an Olympic Swimming Pool, a spa, and a children’s wading pool. Outside the gated pool area, there is a children’s play area, and two sets of tennis courts.
Located off of Knollcrest West and Pineneedles, you will find Cascades Park which is one of a number of smaller neighborhood parks. This has an incredible panoramic views of the city in a quiet park setting. There is a children’s play area as well.
Valley View Park is located off of Spyglass and Retreat and features a Junior Olympic Size Swimming Pool, a spa, a children’s wading pool, two barbecue areas, a tot lot, and a full size Basketball Court.
Irvine’s extensive network of trails and wilderness areas is accessible through Quail Hill Preserve, a favorite with athletes who love to explore the many hiking and biking trails as well as people who just enjoy long walks in the wild. The Quail Hill Loop Trail is an easy two-mile hike and is also a dog friendly trail. However, for those who prefer a considerably longer adventure, it does connect up with the other trails that continue through to the many acres of preserved open spaces that will lead to Laguna Coast Wilderness Park.

The excellent and nationally and globally renowned Irvine Unified School District and the proximity to the University of California at Irvine as well as Concordia University, the community colleges and K-12, public and private institutions–are so important to building a viable community. The strength of Irvine’s educational system is the backbone of a thriving community–one in which the children who will call this place home in the decades that follow will determine its success or failure. People move to Quail Hill for the excellent education their children will receive at the award-winning Alderwood Basics Plus elementary, Rancho San Joaquin Middle, and the nationally-ranked University High Schools–all of which have received a 10 as far as the schools A.P.I. indices (See the Great Schools website to verify).
