Emoticons (Smileys) and Abbreviations

Robin Fenchel December 21, 2012

You’ve gotten used to email, and some of the abbreviations. But some your younger (or even older!) clients may use abbreviations and emoticons (smileys) you may not be used to:

LOL = Laughing Out Loud

ROFL = Rolling On Floor Laughing

ROFLPIMP = Rolling On Floor Laughing, Peeing In My Pants

LTNS = Long Time, No See

IMHO = In My Humble Opinion

AFK = Away From Keyboard

BRB = Be Right Back (or Bath Room Break)

BBL = Be Back Later

CUL = See You Later

CUT = See You Tomorrow

TTFN = Ta, Ta For Now

TTYL = Talk To You Later

And some emoticons (smileys):

🙂 = smile

😉 = wink

:)~ = Ptuiiiiii!

:0) = yawn

8<) = wearing glasses, smiling

=8<) = shocked

{=:{) = chef

{==:{0) = chef in shock

Start playing on your keyboard…. I’m sure you can think of many more!
